I have similar issues with the Rich Text field. Though I can drag CMS Fields without issue. The only thing that I’ve found as a workaround for the text editing issue is to copy into a google doc → copy without formatting → reformat in whatever way possible in the actual editor.
Using: Version 46.0.2490.80 m on Windows 10.
