Community Guidelines

Welcome to the official Webflow forum, a place for designers and creators to share knowledge and support each other as they create the most innovative and efficient web experiences out there.

In order to help you navigate this large community and to help you make the most out of it, we’ve put together some guidelines in an effort to facilitate constructive conversations for all. Please make sure you take the time to read them!

The Short Version

We ask you to respect these few, simple rules :pencil2:️ :

  • Be both constructive and kind: we encourage constructive feedback between community members; however, we will not tolerate disrespectful comments, personal attacks, threats, discrimination, trolling or site bashing. We ask that you treat this community as you would like to be treated, and remember there’s always a person on the other side of the screen! Kindness is cool, after all.
  • Help us keep the forum tidy and organized: before starting a new thread, search existing discussions and use the forum functionalities. If you’re new to online forums and need help to get started, simply type @discobot display help anywhere to start interacting with our welcome chatbot.
  • Avoid spamming: help us improve the discussion by respecting the topics and people discussing them, posting relevant and constructive answers and staying away from advertising and irrelevant comments.
  • Respect and support our moderators: the moderators have authority on the forum and therefore, reserve the right to flag or ban users and content that don’t comply with these guidelines. Keep in mind that these community facilitators are humans, and like all humans, can use a little help along the way.

Do’s and Don’ts of the forum

Do :white_check_mark:

  • Post in the correct category! This is the fastest way to get a relevant answer to your important questions and brilliant remarks. You can find a list of all categories here, including the guidelines for how to post in each category.
  • Give constructive, actionable feedback and criticise designs, not humans.
  • Respect each other. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.
  • Respect our forum. Don’t post spam or otherwise vandalize the forum.

Don’t :no_entry_sign:

  • Engage in disrespectful, mean, or discriminatory behavior. We want to keep this a happy place for all!
  • Post a topic in the wrong category. That would be sad.
  • Cross-post the same thing in multiple topics. That would be overkill.
  • Divert a topic by changing it midstream. We love a good plot twist, but not on the forum.
  • Sign your posts — every post has your profile information attached to it. This isn’t google docs, you anonymous badger, you.
  • Reply directly when you see bad behaviour. Fight fire with… flags! Instead of acknowledging, and encouraging, the bad behavior, just flag it. We’ll take it from there.

Replying to posts

  • If you want to reply to the overall theme of the topic, rather than any specific post in the topic, use the “Reply” button at the very bottom of the topic.

  • To mention someone’s name, start typing @ and an autocompleter will pop up.

Liking and flagging

  • To let someone know that you enjoyed their post, click the like  button at the bottom of the post. You can also share the love by flagging a problem with a post by clicking the “flag” button. This will let the moderators – and your fellow community members – know about it.

Moderation and moderators

Our forum provides tools that enable the community to collectively identify the best (and worst) contributions: favorites, bookmarks, likes, flags, replies, edits, and so forth. Use these tools to improve your own experience, and everyone else’s, too.

In addition to these features, we rely on a group of community moderators to keep this forum tidy and clean. Most of our moderators are community members, just like you, who volunteer a little bit of their time to help make this place a better world. :muscle:

They have special authority and can be recognised by the “Volunteer Community Moderator” badge on their profile. They are responsible for this forum. But so are you. With your help, moderators can be community facilitators, not just janitors or police.

In order to maintain the health and happiness of our community, moderators reserve the right to remove any content and any user account for any reason at any time. Moderators do not preview new posts in any way; the moderators and site operators take no responsibility for any content posted by the community.

What will get you flagged or banned

  • Spamming or vandalizing the forum
  • Personal attacks against other forum users
  • Illegal or NSFW material and activities: we have a zero tolerance policy here!
  • Racism, sexism, and other discriminatory behaviour
  • Trolling: please help us keep this forum relevant and don’t post things that are completely off-topic. We trust you’ll exercise your best judgement here!
  • Cross posting
  • Site bashing: Please remember that there’s always other humans behind the screen! Bashing a site or their staff is disrespectful and we won’t tolerate it.

This is a public forum, and search engines index these discussions. Keep the language, links, and images safe for family and friends.
