0% opacity on body element

#1

Somehow I have managed to change the opacity of the body element to 0% and now none of the other elements are displaying. I need to work out how to revert back to having the opacity at 100% as the option is greyed out and unavailable. This makes it even stranger that it changed to 0% in the first place!

Browser version – http://ctucker.webflow.io/

The first screenshot shows it with 0% opacity and the second is an older version from before it changed

Hey @makongo4477,

Thanks for quick reply! :) Any chance you could tell me how did you manage to do so? I mean... there is (at least shouldn't be) no way to change opacity of body element... If this is a bug we need to fix it asap.

For now I would recommend adding an empty div to your website, giving ti a class like .showMe and set opacity to 100%. Once you do that you can apply that class to body element and remove the created previously div.

I understand it's a workaround, but that's all I could say for now... Your instructions on how did this occur to you would be very helpful. You could also try creating the page again as it seems to have 179 unused styles and there isn't much in there at this moment.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm not really sure how I did it to be honest. I was changing the opacity of one of the other elements and when I applied it and everything went transparent. I may have hit a couple of keys, but it would have been an absolute fluke.

I was trying to understand why it happened before I started again with a new one.

I'll do my best to investigate this although there are 4 of us at this very moment trying to fix the issue. But thanks for pointing that you tried to change another element's opacity.

Did you remove any class or object after the transparency went down to 0%?

#7

Dude... that's a really weird issue.

Here's a video of the issue

That is because the body element has 0% opacity set for some reason.

#9

I had a similar bug - not sure if it is related... about a week ago.

I added an element. Change the opacity to 0. Then renamed the element.

And everything went haywire. All the elements were still there in the navigator...

I just couldn't see anything.

I deleted the element that I changed the opacity to... and reloaded the project

and the issue went away.

There should be way to change the body opacity to 0 ????

Since every element on the page is indexed in webflow...

The only way to change the bodies opacity is to change the opacity for a different element...
and webflow incorrectly indexes the element and
reassigns the opacity to the body.

I'm sure that's what happened to me.

@makongo4477 did you change the opacity or visibility of any other element ?

#11

Here's his CSS code for his project.

body {
  opacity: 0;
  font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;
  color: #333;
  list-style-type: none;
}

Thanks @Revolution :) We've found the issue and working on a fix on this. We didn't yet find the reason behind it tho'. :/

#13

This could be the answer as I did change another elements opacity before it happened. Thanks Revolution, I'll try that now.
