Accordion working on phone vertical but not on horizontal

So I’ve managed to get my dropdown accordion to work correctly on the mobile vertical but when I check it on the horizontal the dropdowns are being displayed behind the dropdown buttons. Why would it work one way and not the other? I’m talking about the “Shop … Powders” buttons below the scrolling hero image.

Set accordion list to position: relative and it will work correctly
