Change nested element to hover state by hovering parent element

#1

Hey guys, here is what I’m trying to accomplish:

I seen some previous post, but all suggestions were pointing to using “opacity” and creating a hidden element that will appear on hover. Those seem like hacks rather than solutions.

Why is the icon a child of the map-search-toggle element? It could be a graphic added as a background image (with a padding on the right to let room for it). That way, you could change it on hover by editing the bg for the hover state.

The arrow icon is a part of standard dropdown element, I just added some style today. I will try adding it as an image to the parent element like you did, will see if that solves it.
