Do archived products count towards item limits in site plans?

For example, the standard site plan has a 500 item limit. If my client archives a product, does that apply to the total allowed amount? In other words, is it only active items that count towards the total or is it absolutely everything, active, archived, or not?

Will my client need to delete products to subtract them from the total limit? Thanks!

An item counts as an item regardless of status.
