Embedding Mailchimp newsletter signup

Hi Webflow-ies,

I found a really helpful thread on here that stopped me getting the error message on my newsletter sign-up.

However, when I input an email and enter the submit button, it takes me to a page where it wants me to submit it all again.

Is there any way to just get the form embedded on my Webflow site? I don’t know how to get the first name field on there.

Here are some screenshots to show what I mean.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

This is because your form is set up with an action that points towards the signup link. A good way to do import contacts from Webflow forms to MailChimp is to use a Zapier integration. It’s really simple to set up, and works great!

Thanks, JSW. I tried doing that but I still have the same problem. I’m guessing I’ve done something wrong but I have no idea what:

Any ideas?

Also, does anyone know how to add extra sections to the newsletter form? I want to collect first names with it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Julia,

You need to remove the action set in the form block.

To add first names, you can add an extra field to the form, then go to edit your Zapier integration and set it so that it pulls the first name from the new field you’ve added in and puts it in the right field in mailchimp.

Thanks, JSW.

That makes sense.

Is there any way to edit the form so it isn’t so scrambled?

Yeah, if you choose the form block and then set the flexbox to the following:

Then make the first name and email input fields (and the button) as width:auto and then you can adjust as you wish using the bottom and top margins to space them out.
