Free vs Paid Features / Suggestions

#1

Hi,
I'm on the free plan, but considering an upgrade in the future. Had a few queries.

  1. I just got an email saying that after 14 form submissions - I won't now receive notifications of new entries. I already knew I wouldn't be able to access the data on the backend, and was happy making do with just the notifications. But now these will apparently stop. The Account > Plans page says that you get 100 entries per month for free. It doesn't specify that this is limited to paid accounts - it just says 'free'. You might want to clear that up?

  2. On the paid plans, is it currently (or planned to be) possible to re-import a site? Obviously I know you need to protect yourself from people abusing the system. But if I make a page for a client, export it, and put it live - I don't really want to delete it forever from Webflow, as it may require small tweaks in the future. I specialise in small (mostly one-pager) sites, so would very quickly run up 10 'sites'.If not a reimport feature - perhaps you could have an 'árchive' feature, where you can store sites that are completed. You can bring them back to be a 'çurrent' site at any time, as long as you have capacity in your site count?

  3. I notice that you are able to duplicate a website in the settings area. It might be nice to be able instead to have a 'save as template' option. So it's right there as a choice when creating a new site. This template would then not need to count against your sites limit.

Thanks
Simon

Hi @SimonSkilling. I'd be happy to answer your questions.

  1. You will continue to receive form submissions, but you will only be able to access a limited number. I'm sorry that we have not made it clear what the limit is for free users. We are working on communicating pricing details and limitations more clearly.

  2. Currently we don't have import functionality mainly because it's really hard to decipher all the code that has been added by the web designer. You say you export and push it live. Why not host in Webflow? Then you don't have to export it to push it live. I'd love to know your thoughts.

  3. This functionality we will be offering for team/agency plan. We most likely won't be offering it for personal plans.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for the swift reply!

  1. Sure, I realise that no data will be lost, and you retain all submissions. But it was the notifications by email that I was not expecting to be capped so low.

  2. Yeah, I guess importing code that has since been altered would be a nightmare to process. I was thinking about just reimporting the full zip as exported (not edited). Effectively using my hard drive as an archive of completed sites. But I guess you wouldn't be able to tell if it's been tampered with. I could host in Webflow, but it wouldn't solve my problem of sites quickly piling up and maxing out my limit. (As it happens I export so I have total control over the URL. I know you do custom domains as an optional extra - and for future clients I might well use that if the budget allows!)

  3. Fair enough, thanks for the info!

Simon
