Google Search Console Submission not working

#1

I’ve just attempted to submit the site property to Google Search console but it’s unable to verify my domain. I’ve used HTML tag to verify as there isn’t an option to upload a google verification HTML file.

Here is the error message I got: http://prntscr.com/mkqh3v

I also tried to verify via Google Analytics and made sure to enable Google’s gtag.js is being used. But still no joy!

Also made sure all changes were saved and published, but Google Search Console is unable to verify again.

Any ideas?

Can you please post your read-only and published links?

#3

please use the Yoast SEO plugin to verify with the HTML tag.

#4

That plugin is for Wordpress sites.

This meta tag is in your <head>. If the string in the content “googlee64490bc9e826748” is correct, then I would check which URL you are asking Google to check. Your site is available on both HTTP and HTTPS protocols. There are redirects happening that could create an issue.

Your screenshot does not give the indication of which URL you are trying to evaluate.

<meta content="googlee64490bc9e826748" name="google-site-verification">

Thanks @webdev. Got it working in the end. Looks like when I set it up I didn’t put “www”. Verified as soon as it was changed.
