Google site verification not working

Hi there,

This is my first post to the forum and I’m a relatively new user to Webflow!

I’ve been working on my own portfolio site for a while and I’m coming up to wanting to publish it. I currently have it published but it is password protected, just whilst I get feedback and iron it out a bit more.

I thought whilst it was published in this state I would get it verified with Google using the method outlined in the very useful article here. However it does not verify it, has this got anything to do with it being password protected?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi - I’m also having this problem, though my site is not password protected.

I’ve inputted the Google Verification ID to my Webflow SEO page but when I verify with google (I have published the site) I get the error :

Verification method:
HTML tag

Failure reason:
Could not find the meta tag in your site’s home page

Did you manage to find a solution to this @joelsleet?

Add live URL. (And a screenshot of the code you put inside Google site verification ID feild under webflow setting) - No way to answer like this (Read-only won’t help in this case).

Did you publish the changes? -and/or- paste the correct code?
