How to change styling of text within same sentence?

Hi all –
I am having issues trying to adjust the color of text that occurs within the same line / sentence.

Each time I have tried to change the color of just the first few letters of a word, it changes the color of the entire body of text. See below. The first is what I have, the second is what I’m trying to recreate. Thanks for your help!

Hello @Joshua_Jones,

What you have to do is to wrap the text you want in different color with span and give that span a new class. To do that you need to highlight the text you want to change color and the option to span will be displayed. You can’t do it right now because of your rich text element. Delete the rich text element and just use a paragraph element. I hope this helps.

Hi!
This helped me, except, now my text “jumped” out of alignment with the rest of the paragraph. Can anyone help guide me on what to do there, so the highlighted word stays in the same place?
