How to make a column and its content stay fixed

I am trying to keep the contents of one of my columns fixed, but every time I hover over one the menu text I have, the items shift up/down.

If you hover over ‘WORKS’, ‘ABOUT’, or ‘RESUME’, the text on the right side also shifts. How can I fix this?
