Images positioned absolute are disappearing when x/y axis is adjusted

Hi,

Can someone explain why images that I have positioned absolute appear fine with the x&y axis set to 0%,0%, but if I adjust the x-axis to -5%, the images then stop displaying?!

What’s even weirder is that this appears to be happening on Chrome and Firefox but not Safari.

Have tried hard resets, clearing cache, z-index… nothing works!

The section’s overflow:hidden is the culprit. When I disable this it’s fine, but now I can’t crop in neatly under the above section.
