Interactive storytelling real utility discussion

Hello Webflow colleagues,

I do a personal UX research about interactive storytelling in web posting. Let’t take few examples:

  1. https://searchingforsyria.org/en/what-was-syria-like-before-the-war/

  2. Greenland’s melting glaciers may someday flood your city

The second example is from a Webflow article actually.

The question: Are those pages useful as a information provider, if yes, for whom exactly? From my perspective, when I want to read something about Syria or any other world event, I prefer a detailed article or a YouTube video.

Do you think this kind of web posts represents a niche of readers?

Good question and topic.

I like scrolling down and consuming data in small chunks overtime. Your first link is a better UX because there is an progress indicator. The second one feels like i’m scrolling forever because there isn’t a progress indicator.

Also, the first link feels like a power point presentation, which is good
