Layout Suggestion

Dave actually came up how it’s structured. I saw this design on another site and just wanted to try it here. I’m actually building another version now.

I don’t think we can structure this with columns because the blocks go to the edge of the window.

Like this? http://glenmyver.webflow.com/

This has been done with columns and classes to control which image is displayed in the columns. Much simpler and achieves what you are after… I thought it easier to redo it than amend it as it felt a little strange to me ::smile:

Done m8 have you checked? Its not an exact copy but has the parts you require

Sorry, I got distracted yesterday. Yeah I will play around with it. Thanks!
Wow, you did get the text to display at full opacity over the background images… although I am puzzled at why the text can’t be clicked on for editing. It can be accessed in the tree though.

Yeah the webflow can be funny sometimes. But you have been able to get to the text so all good! As a consequence of doing it the way I have you will be able to make it viewable across all devices as well  I take it you have cloned it back to you for your own use now?

If not let me know so I can delete it

Many thanks for letting me help you

cheers,

Robert

Thanks Robert. It’s not every day someone wants to help. I just made a clone of it to mess around with. I am still scratching my head as to how you got it to work and I’ve already taken a look at the settings.
Let me know if you ever have any help. I’ll help out however I can!

No problem  Let me know if you need a good website host. I am a host and offer great packages to folks I meet

I’m interested! Can you give me details in PM?

Hi @GodlessGlen, really sorry about the layout trouble. :-/ Webflow is sort of a unique tool in that it strictly adheres to HTML5/CSS3 best practices.

But we have some awesome resources to help out:
(1) We have great tutorials and are only coming out with more everyday to help teach web design: http://tutorials.webflow.com/
(2) We recently started hosting workshops/webinars to help teach web design: http://webflow.com/workshops
(3) We have lots of documentation on how to use Webflow, learn webflow best practices and more: http://help.webflow.com
(4) We also have a world class support team that can help answer Webflow related questions and help point you in the right direction for design trouble. Email us anytime at support@webflow.com

Hi, thanks for pointing out the resources but I am already aware of those. I’m glad your team makes amazing free tutorials but there are times when those don’t cover what I am looking for. My whole point is that I hope that webflow will become easier and faster to use for building layouts. With any wordpress drag and drop builder I use, I don’t have worry about all the various types of positioning, floats, clears, etc. I simply drag and drop my way to a layout and don’t have worry about layout issues with overlapping or other weird results. I hope you guys are listening with this.
