Links sections to a vertical navbar

Hey guys!

I am back on webflow for a new portfolio :call_me_hand:

I am trying to use a vertical navbar but somehow I can’t link the navbar to the sections of the landing as the sections don’t appear in the “Section” menu. I tried a few stuff but can’t make it happen unfortunately.

Anyone has any hints on this one? :v:

Hi @laurentdesserre,

Welcome back!

Loving the website so far. :nerd:

In order to link to the section on the page you would need to give that section an ID, and then it will be accessible to link to.

Take a look at the following video to see how I completed it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BynZs0dQwPd_WHptSFZ3TkJFd2M/view

Hopefully this helps

Yay! Thanks so much @micahryanhtml. :call_me_hand:

Nice!

Oh, no problem @laurentdesserre

Glad I could help

Oh @micahryanhtml! As we’re talking about this. Do you know how to highlight (in white) the active section the user is currently on - while displaying the other sections as inactive (in grey) on the vertical navbar?

Oh definitey, @laurentdessere,

To make the current link white we would first make all links grey, then locate a section that you’ve created an ID, and finally you can change the color of the link associated with the “Current” section to white.

Feel free to watch the short tutorial I created: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BynZs0dQwPd_OGdKY0pnajhuTUE/view

Hopefully this helps

Lit! You’re definitely the man @micahryanhtml

Thanks again!
