Open hambureger menu with keypress

Hi folks.

In compliance with WCAG2 I’m trying to make the hamburger menu for the site’s navbar accessible for users whom rely on their keyboard for navigation.

I see that the Menu Button is not an link, but a div, so it does not respond to keypress (Enter) when the element get focus (tabindex).

I’m trying to create a code in JQuery to automatically trigger a click on the Menu Button once the Menu Button gets focus, so that the mobile menu collapses downwards as it would do if the “button” was clicked by the user.

Can any code guru help me please?

Thanks!
