Product Description not formatting

When I push a product to webflow from printful it gives a nice description that looks like

Expand your wardrobe with this lightweight Champion performance t-shirt. Made from rapid dry fabric, this tee is perfect for running, working out at the gym, or team sports. It features a reflective “C” logo and ensures UV protection.

• 100% polyester interlock
• Moisture-wicking rapid dry fabric
• 50+ UPF UV protection
• Smooth self-fabric collar
• Reflective “C” logo on left sleeve
• Champion script logo at center back neck

When I link a paragraph to that description it always comes out looking like this

Expand your wardrobe with this lightweight Champion performance t-shirt. Made from rapid dry fabric, this tee is perfect for running, working out at the gym, or team sports. It features a reflective “C” logo and ensures UV protection.• 100% polyester interlock• Moisture-wicking rapid dry fabric• 50+ UPF UV protection• Smooth self-fabric collar• Reflective “C” logo on left sleeve• Champion script logo at center back neck

it doesnt allow me to alter it in any way, and so I am stuck with ugly unreadable descriptions

any advice would be most welcome

So I found a workaround, but I would very much like to be able to do it properly, I just don’t know how.

The workaround is that I add a custom field to products called Product Description. I copy and paste the description to the new rich text field and then I can link it properly with a rich text element on the product page

again if anyone has any idea how to do this properly I would be so grateful

This is how I’ve gotten around similar issues in the past with formatting issues and while it’s not ideal I think it should be an appropriate solution. I believe the problem is that the necessary markup isn’t being included through the API, but I haven’t tested it too extensively.

You could always use the first part of your description from Printful directly so that only the bulleted list is entered manually or use some conditional formatting to selectively display the right bulleted list based on product characteristics—although I haven’t gotten a chance to try out the Printful integration so I’m not sure if splitting up this description is possible.

Hopefully that helps :v:

I was thinking the same thing. Either way I end up with 2 field, but at least that way the “description field” is being used for something more than a text holder for me to copy over to a usable field, haha.

It seems as if the fields generated with webflow eCommerce are all plain text. I assume this is causing formatting issues because the printful information is from rich text. Not sure cause I am a noob, but this is my best guess.

That’s true, the default product description field is plain text, so unless you’re able to map the Printful description to a custom rich text field, the workarounds you’ve experimented with are your only options for the time being.

Either way, glad you were able to find a workaround! Given this integration is fairly new, along with Webflow Ecommerce in general, it’s possible we could see some improvement down the road. In the meantime, here’s a related Wishlist item that you can always throw some support behind if you’d like.
