Hi, I’ve just tested a site 85/100, these were the comments to improve the score. I’m going to have to research the meaning and fixes for a lot of them, can anybody offer me any advise on necessity/urgency/priority. Apologies if this is a bit simplistic.

  1. The text on your website should at least be 2000 characters.
  2. Your keyword should appear at least 3 times and at most 5 times.
  3. Bold, italicize, or underline your keywords.
  4. The number of HTTP requests should be no more than 4.
  5. HTML is not W3C validated
  6. Too many HTTP requests.
  7. Your page rank score is low (0 out of 10).
  8. No underscores were found in URL.
  9. You have less than 10 pages indexed by Google.
  10. All your images should have an alt tag.
  11. An underscore was found in an image filename.
  12. HTML is not W3C validated.
  13. Remove inline JavaScript.
  14. Remove inline CSS.
  15. No HTML sitemap was found.
  16. No XML sitemap was found.
  17. Add a robots file.
  18. Add Google Analytics.
  19. Add a mobile sitemap.
  20. Canonicalize your IP address.

There are several things that you need to take into account whenever you’re SEO optimising your site. Although the importance of all of them is not the same all of them need to be taken care and if you’d asked me I would say there a few more to consider as well.

The order that I would suggest to focus on would be like this:

  • Content
  • Structure
  • Settings
  • Code
  • Everything else

Like I said this is a very broad response and SEO requires a whole plan and strategy behind but hopefully this will put you in the right track.
