Following this thread to create a snazzy map for a new project.

Now my question is, how do I get the custom marker retina ready?
Currently setting its size to 58 x 44 px as the example but looks pixelated on retina displays. Tried to double the size but obviously only results in a double sized pixelated image

I am sure is super simple hack...anyone can help?

Have you tried using SVG? I Don't know if Google Maps supports SVG but you could try.
