I have reached the max chars for Webflow header/footer custom code textarea. Could this be doubled please?

Hi @samliew, thanks for your post.

What code are you trying to paste into the Footer section of the custom code panel of site settings?

Could you send me the site read-only link: https://help.webflow.com/faq/how-do-i-share-my-sites-read-only-link, I am happy to take a look and find out what’s happening

Cheers,
Dave

Hi @cyberdave,

Here’s the link to the site, but I don’t think you can access the custom Head/Footer code fields as they can only be accessed via the dashboard.

I can’t paste the code here either, as it seems like it gets nuked by the forum software. Here are the links to them instead:

Footer: http://dumptext.com/r49IXsdY

Hi @samliew, thanks, I am checking in to this  Cheers,
Dave

This happened to me now aswell… Added about 500 characters of code to my 12000+ characters custom code, and now I can’t save because suddenly you have activated some kind of limit.

Don’t you think you should notify your users before doing changes like this?

Edit:

Nevermind, I spoke too soon. I just had to reload the custom-code page, and start editing my code again.
Weirdest error ever.

Hi @cyberdave, I would request that character limit from these textboxes be removed entirely. Also, please remove the character limit from the embed field in the webflow editor if possible.

Hi @samliew - we just removed these validations. Thanks for bringing them up!

Hi @brryant,

I have now reached the 20,000 character limit. Could this be extended or removed as well?

Head custom code must not exceed 20,000 characters.

Hi @samliew - at this point I’d suggest using a third party hosting service to host your scripts. I’d suggest Amazon S3 or another service that is suitable for your traffic patterns.
