Video doesn´t work

#1

I have embeded a video hosted on my own server. The video is shown in Chrome and Safari with a black border on the right and left site. In Firefox the video is turned left.

My shared site:

The video is embeded on this site:

The video of the automatic sliding door works for me. What browser are you using?

Hi @Bettina_Lucas, I have been looking at this, and I can see what you mean, that the video is inverted -- I have a couple of observations smile

A. The video embed is using the same code on both pages, yet the video in Firefox appears rotated. One reason could be that Firefox is rendering this video differently based on the video encoding used (probably).

I would suggest to take the source video, and re-convert it. What operating system are you using? I can perhaps suggest a few good free tools to do this.

B. You have only one version of the video uploaded. It is a good idea, to create an .ogv and .webm version of the video for the best compatibility between browsers. Converting using a tool like Miro Video converter (for mac, it's free) will allow you to create multiple formats, .mp4, .ogv and .webm.

If you get stuck, let me know and i am happy to assist further smile Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,

when i want to download the Miro video converter from the website http://www.mirovideoconverter.com/ theres comes the message that the software could install malware.

I have taken a sreenshot from the message but can´t send to you.

Hi @Bettina_Lucas, ok, I am not sure about that, I use the software with no issues. You might try some other video converters if your anti-virus is complaining about that.

Here are some alternatives, if you do not feel comfortable installing Miro. I am on Mac though, so if you are using Windows, there might be something about the Windows version that is different.

I hope this helps. If not, please let me know – I'm happy to assist further! smile
