Why, when I put the height of the unit in % , it disappears (becomes thin line)?

It contains the image height in%. When I do the same, I have them disappear .

Height percentages don’t work like width percentages as far as I can tell. Width bases a percentage on the viewport window. But height bases it on it’s content. CSS – why doesn’t percentage height work? - Stack Overflow

Additionally, if you have a small enough % value, you could end up with an element that is less than 1px tall, which would make it disappear.
